Evidence Based Posting #4
I have been thinking about the use of blogs in schools. I think they can be a great tool to classroom learning and a good assesment tool for teachers. I found and article entitled Up for Debate. It discusses some negative points to blogging. It is interesting that these blogs are being compared to myspace. Bloggers can post anythign they want and the content is not being reviewed or censored. This is where bulling can take place. The blog pages are being compared to passing notes in class or talking on a party line. The only differnce here is that the message reaches many more people than just the the person next to you.
I think that if blogs are going to be used in the school setting there should be strict guidelines for use. They should also be closly monitored.
